Beyond farming – Building resilient (eco)systems

"Healthy soil is our only hope for the future. Without healthy soil, there is no future."

Our current monocultural agricultural system is showing its limits and it is time to turn to regenerative land use models. There are several ways to restore our damaged ecosystems, and agroforestry is one of them. Dive deep into Benedikt Bösel’s keynote to discover more.

CEO Gut&Bösel

Benedikt Bösel is an agricultural economist and managing director of Gut&Bösel, a 3,000 ha farm and forestry business an hour east of Berlin. Together with his team, he develops various regenerative agriculture methods to build healthy and resilient ecosystems and understand how large-scale agriculture can be transformed in the future. These methods include holistic pasture management, composting, syntropic agroforestry and forest conversion, as well as the development of new software and technology.

In order to be able to accompany the agricultural work scientifically and to assess and analyse the effects of multifunctional agriculture, Benedikt 2021 founded the Finck Foundation. This cooperates with various high-ranking universities and research institutes.
